“The sky is colored silver-gray,”
announced dramatic Mary Kay.
“Behind the silver, I see blue,”
politely whispered Sarah Sue.
“The color is a light magellan,”
mused creative Mary Ellen.
“At night, it is the deepest black,”
remembered little Billy Jack.
“The sky had tints of gold today.”
considered thoughtful, Sophie Mae.
“Reflections make it brownish tan,”
insisted scientific Dan.
“The winter sky is snowy white!”
(Korin was sure that she was right!)
Then Emma said, “But, don’t you think,
late evening glows with blushing pink?”
Victoria surprised the group,
She thought it looked like miso soup.
Then Joey said (to make us laugh),
“It’s cloudy like my weekly bath!”
“The setting sun will turn it red,”
Diego confidently said.
They argued well into the night
when Isa asked, “Well, who is right?”
Then Ellie, known to be artistic,
answered, “Friends, be realistic!
It’s critical you have reliance
on the basic facts of science.
Colors change with time and season.
It’s simple logic - here’s the reason:
Paint-filled buckets fill our sky.
An inexhaustible supply.
At sunrise, God tips one or two,
A masterpiece each day…
for you.”
