Summer finds me on my bike
up the hills and coasting down,
speeding through the countryside,
cruising slowly when in town.
Gliding through the fields and trails,
racing down an empty street,
bumping, thumping over tracks,
finding bike lanes…what a treat!
Gusts of wind now catch my bike
giving me a superpower,
flying me to Bangladesh,
the Pyramids and Eiffel Tower.
Alaska is a stressful trip.
My wheels are stuck in icy snow.
I turn my bike from North to South.
Destination - Mexico!
Later, my bike bumps and clatters
on the cobblestones of Rome.
The savory smell of fresh baked bread
make me think of Mom and home.
In China, there is such a crowd,
I ride for hours in second gear.
My next stop will be Mozambique,
where winds are tropical all year.
Australia is a wondrous place,
you won’t believe what I have seen,
a baby kangaroo so small -
no bigger than a jellybean!
Each day at dawn, I wave to Mom,
I’m off to see what I can see!
From Madagascar to Brazil,
untold adventure waits for me.
Tomorrow, it is Liechtenstein,
It’s no ride for a beginner.
I’ll have to pedal extra fast
to be home in time for dinner!
